# Hardware Security Module (HSM)

HSM is a super-secure device made by informatics. It's like a high-tech lockbox that handles secret codes and keeps them safe. With a special stamp of approval (QSCD) following EU rules, HSM helps important organizations like banks and data protectors do their jobs better. It's great for making and checking electronic signatures, dealing with digital certificates, and following strict rules like PSD2 (Open Banking) and GDPR (Data Protection).

What makes the HSM extra special is how it manages secret codes using Secure Multi-party Computation (SMPC). The HSM does this to make sure the codes stay safe, whether they're being made, stored, or used. Even though it sounds complicated, it works smoothly with other security systems, making sure everything stays secure and trustworthy.
